Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (Movie, 2017)
The story follows a clear narrative but not a predictable one and the cast performances are nothing short of amazing. The story, the script, the performances, all brilliantly conceived and played out to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Set in the small Midwest town from the title, Frances McDormand delivers a magnificent performance as Mildred Hayes, a tortured soul who places three billboards with attacks against the local police force for failing to heavily investigate the rape and murder of her teenage daughter.
Through grief and loss, Martin McDonagh's characters shine in spectacular fashion, depicting angered souls who all are trying to do what they feel is right, while also learning the importance of forgiveness and empathy.

Black Panther (Movie, 2018)
"Black Panther" tries to be more than just a super-hero movie. Good action scenes, although a bit dark and hard to see at times.

Lady Bird (Movie, 2017)
This spirited yet gentle coming of age movie beautifully and honestly captures one teenager's confusing steps and miss-steps on the way to finding herself in America. A lot of issues were dealt with during the course of Lady Bird's high school senior year...sexual awakening, parental issues, depression, friendships, etc. It's well acted.

Wonder (Movie, 2017)
It's a great story adapted from a best selling novel of the same name, and smartly written. Augie has a genetic condition called Treacher Collins syndrome, which results in facial disfigurement and other physical deformities.
The casting is perfect with Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson playing the parents. Everyone in the movie is great and the movie, while being sad, is also uplifting at the same time.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (Movie, 2016)
In the aftermath of this terrorist attack on 9-11-2012, which killed our ambassador to Libya and three other men - an attack which had obviously been carefully planned and coordinated over weeks. And It is astounding that "only" four Americans died that night as we see repeated violent terrorist attacks throughout the night. Aside from that it is a superbly well made film; the action sequences are just absolutely stunning.
