The Hobbit (Movie, 2012)

We went to see Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" in a theater with 48-frames-per-second 3D technology (HFR 3D), which Jackson says leads to less eyestrain and a sharper picture. This is the best 3D I have ever seen. Jackson undoubtedly chose to shoot in the controversial 48fps format for the silky-smooth effect it has on the sweeping helicopter shots he loves so much.

The first hour of "The Hobbit" is Peter Jackson's feedback solo. However, once the singing is done and things start to happen it's actually quite fun.
