The Magnificent Seven (Movie, 2016)

Seven gunslingers in the old west come together in this remake of the 1960 Western classic to help save a small town from a ruthless gold tycoon and his army. The Magnificent Seven is a classic old west tale of revenge meeting desperation. Acting was well done with Denzel Washington delivering a solid performance. This remake is entertaining but it's no classic, as the Kurosawa classic The Seven Samurai.

Underworld: Blood Wars (Movie, 2017)

This is essentially a new medieval epic brought to full life. It shows class war between the aristocratic vampires and the proletariat werewolves. This was the darkest movie I have ever seen (or not seen) since it was so dark that you can't see half of the movie. Disappointed!

La La Land (Movie, 2016)

Definitely overrated by Oscars. There are so many talented singers/dancers/actors who could have done so much more with this.  It tried to be a contemporary setting and at the same time a setting like back in the 50's -- and it didn't work.
