Blade Runner 2049 (Movie, 2017)

Blade Runner (1982) is one of the finest films of all time from Director Ripley Scott who enjoyed creating movies of different genres. The sequel Blade Runner 2049 (2017) directed by Denis Villeneuve has absolutely none of the majestic qualities of the original. 

The story was weak, and very little happened during the movie. It was disappointing, slow, boring, and way too long. 

Hidden Figures (Movie, 2016)

This is an inspirational and heartwarming story about three black women who held key positions at NASA during the critical stages of the manned space program of the 1960s. It is unbelievable that the many calculations needed were done by hand on mechanical calculators. 

None of us who are not Black can begin to understand the humiliation, degradation, and frustration these women, highly intelligent and beautiful women felt working for NASA yet treated like servants. This movie was fun and informative.

American Assassin (Movie, 2017)

This is a great action thriller! Amazingly, Michael Keaton is in really good shape for his age and does a great job. However, you wonder why the headstrong young protege gets all kinds of second and third chances to ignore his CIA bosses and freelance. Unbelievable!

Cars 3 (Movie, 2017)

A solid movie that is similar to the previous Cars movies. 

Question: What happens when you can no longer do what you've loved doing more than anything else for your entire life? 
Answer:  You have to face, and overcome, the truths of growing older. 

The Town (Movie, 2010)

This movie is packed with authentic locations (the rough Charlestown section of Boston), car chases, and rich characters - and mixed with a great story. I have never been a big Ben Affleck fan but believe this was a perfect film for him being from Boston himself. This particular neighborhood is called Charlestown which was apparently known for an abundance of robberies. Rebecca Hall who plays as the clueless young woman who falls for Doug. I love her naturalness in this film. 

The Hitman's Bodyguard (Movie, 2017)

Plenty of action scenes with nicely choreographed fight scenes. However, constant cussing badly mars this otherwise enjoyable comic action flick. The unwilling buddy relationship of Jackson and Ryan was contagiously funny - no two people have hated one another to such the point of love and grudging professional respect! 

It's a fun and delightful comedy.
