Lunch gathering at 台灣辦桌

 Kung-Yi Lin and Jennifer were kind enough to invite us to celebrate the 2014 new year at 台灣辦桌. It is a rather new restaurant in Rowland Heights, specialized in Taiwan dishes. However, even though the dishes' presentations were attractive, but not the taste though. Here are some pictures taken.

坤儀 & Jennifer,

太感謝您們的熱情招待. 看得出來坤儀的疲憊, 讓人有些憂心. 上了年紀, 多照顧自己一些. 倒是Jennifer, 仍然丰姿綽約. 我感覺咱四老同學中, 屬萬平氣色最佳. 今天只顧著照相菜色, 忘了與大夥兒留影.

王鼎鈞說: 六十曰老, 七十曰耆, 八十曰耋, 九十曰耄, 活到耄耋之年, 最怕有長年臥床的疾病,自己苦, 家人也苦, 連醫生護士也跟著受罪, 這是老年的大問題.

活到老, 真好, 可是也別太老, 別真的成了滿臉皺紋, 一把鬍子的初生嬰兒, 老了要能「捨」, 能像佛家那樣, 歡歡喜喜地捨, 該捨就捨, 包括生命.

「人生在世, 中年以前不要怕, 中年以後不要悔, 這是經驗的提煉, 智慧的濃縮.」

咱們下回去"福軒"聚餐吧. 得請正龍點菜啦!

Cold Winter coming

Now our days are getting longer and while the coldest is yet to come in late January into February.  Longer days are coming!

Lightening Tai-Chi 6 Years Anniversary at El Monte

Master Hsing (邢汝宏) and 楊泓 came to our class and celebrated the 6th year with us.

Our regular members include Jean Loo, Kon Lai, Richard Kao, Abbey Huang, Mark Cheng, Cindy Wong, Lilly Kangwankij and me.

Safe Haven (2013, Movie)

From the beginning, I didn't think it had set out to be the best. The 2nd half of this movie had enough twists and turns to keep me emotionally invested. The abuse plot had an interesting twist but the main characters are poorly developed.

47 Ronin (2013, Movie)

"The 47 were the greatest Samurai who ever existed. They were led by Ōishi. They served ‎Lord Asano in the land of Ako and lived by the principles of Bushido...loyalty, courage, benevolence, justice, honesty, respect and above all, honor."

It is in fact a fantasy recreation of a popular Japanese historical event. Keano Reeves was really good as the mystery man who stars as the totally fictional Kai, a half-British, half-Japanese outcast who is taken in by Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada) the leader of the 47, to assist in taking revenge on Lord Kira (Tadanobu Asano) for conspiring to kill their master, Lord Asano.

We watched the 3D dimension but I feel this movie will be equally as good in 2D.
